Great little camera that produces first class pictures. We bought it to monitor hedgehogs as we knew they were visiting our garden. Wow were we surprised we now have hundreds of pictures from different times of the night. It was interesting to see our 5 of our 6 cats ignore them. The sixth cat is special needs (brain damaged) and she is fascinated with them. She watches for them coming down the side of the house every night.
The batteries are still on full charge having been on every night since we purchased it (18 days ago).
The quality of the infrared pictures amazed us, its full of detail. We are going to put it close to our bird feeder in due course as we know we have many more species than we have seen with the naked eye.
We would highly recommend this little gadget it has given us a lot of insight in to the habits of our hedgehog population.

This is replacing an old Swann 5MP camera I had, I was rather hoping it would be a real upgrade.
The unit takes 4 or 8 batteries, which allows you to decide if you want to run it for longer or not. Using 8 batteries that registered as ‘low’ on this unit, this was still running after 2 weeks, so I can only assume the power consumption is pretty good.

It looks very similar (internally) to many other devices on the market, with a screen and control buttons inside the front half of the unit. Setup is a doddle, and you can review the images/videos on here. That’s great, but you can’t use it to set up where it’s pointing as the camera swivels round when you open it…
After inserting the SD card I took a few test pictures and it all looked OK on the screen. Daylight images are fairly clear but not really equivalent to any other 12MP camera I’ve used.. I5 or12-Megapixel high-quality resolution but with considerable upscaling. The same goes for video, 1080 lines are in the video, but the resolution is much, much higher.

What makes me happy is that the nighttime image quality is very good, compared to the basic models I bought before. You can see from the picture that the shooting wild boar (about 10 feet away) is full of light, just like that point reaches that point and is a little over, the image is clearer. The video looks a little better, I can see the picture of the wild boar walking around.

Great camera for the price, as it’s up to 12 mp, so good for still and HD video. I have a wildlife haven in my garden, so set up the camera last night on the infra red night vision, and was so please to get a shot of a hedgehog, which I thought we had, but never seen it until now, very exciting result, the camera was easy to set up, with a reset button which allows reviews of shots. I doesn’t come with come with SD card and needs 8 AA batteries, but these will last for months, so not a big deal.

This is a very well made, solid Wildlife Camera, instructions are easy to follow making the camera simple to set up.
I set the camera up in my garden on the first evening on a tripod and was surprised in the morning by 2 hedgehogs in my garden feasting on slugs just before dark and a robin feeding on my bird table in the morning, but I was very surprised to see a bat flying around my garden, I didn’t expect the motion sensor to pick that up twice.
I am very happy with my camera and yes, most deffinetly would recommend

Recently purchased this product for a trip I had with a few friends. We set up camp and placed a couple of cameras on trees nearby to capture footage of wildlife nearby.
To our surprised, the camera was fairly easy to set up, but I had to get my friend to figure out how to open the latch for the battery supplies… D’oh! People have suggested placing the camera further away for a clearer shot but I have not had any issues with how clear the images are of the roaming foxes that came to say hello! The night vision was able to capture wildlife in ‘total darkness’ as the description states. The comments I have read on battery life seems to vary, but mine seems to do fairly well. It managed to last longer than 2 evenings!
The camera seems to be very robust, i was devastated when I dropped the camera but to my please try surprise, at close inspection, the was hardly any damage taken by the camera. this camera worth considering if you are a novice and getting into taking pictures and videos of wildlife!

When we were away, we used this camera to watch the wild animals in the garden, and we had a great time. So far, a large number of birds have bathed in ponds, hedgehogs and (inevitable) gray squirrels and moggies.
It doesn’t make sense to repeat the opinions of others on this page. What I have to add is that, undeniably, the image quality is not bad: you can see the 5MP resolution from the figure of the goldfinch. Nighttime images are occasionally inevitably grainy, but sufficient to identify species, which is after all the use of the camera. This is a neat little package that is very easy to use and has a reasonable menu structure. My current favorite setting is a 3 x 5MP still image, followed by a 20 second video, but sometimes when the video is in, the little guy has disappeared. Sometimes motion sensors appear to be triggered by leaves moving in the wind, but this is inevitable.
I tied the camera to the tree using the included camera because we have grizzly bears in Wales.
I was having trouble playing a video on my computer – well, 2 Macs. The play will be stuttering. After consulting the website’s customer service, I was told the method. Once I converted the WAV file to MP4, everything was fine. It may be worth mentioning in the manual.

Unfortunately my camera didn’t work properly and I returned it. Customer services contacted me and a free replacement was sent. I am very pleased to say that the replacement has worked exactly as it should and I have been able to watch some lovely film of hedgehogs playing.
This camera is excellent value. There are others out there that maybe have a better quality picture BUT not at this price, and the sound quality is better than some more expensive brands. I am very happy to recommend this.

The camera is sturdily built with a strap attached that allows me to fix it to various bits and pieces around the garden. It’s been out in all weathers and been unaffected. The picture quality can be changed but I find that the medium settings are fine. The camera is very flexible in that you can adjust the settings in the menu according to your requirements. For example image size, video length, interval between the camera being triggered are amongst a host of things that the user can decide.
I’ve managed to capture a fox and a hedgehog at night and it’s fascinating to see what goes on in your garden without your knowledge!
I’m off on a camping holiday soon and I shall certainly be taking the camera with me.

I bought one of these cameras about 9 months ago and used it to photograph the wild animals in my garden – hedgehogs, foxes, kites, etc. I also use it to find out why eating vegetables – pigeons.
It works fine during the day and night, and it automatically uses infrared lighting at night – animals can’t see this frequency so they won’t panic. The pictures and videos may or may not be 12MP, but they are perfect for this job, I really like it.
I use a rechargeable battery (8xAA). They can easily last all nights and may last for a few days, shooting about 100-200 images and 30-second video clips. I didn’t find this problem because I always wanted to retrieve images/videos the next morning. I know that the battery will last for 6 months. If you only take pictures, there may be. I don’t think there will be many people who want to take photos and videos for 6 months without being taken care of! If you are passionate about doing this, I guess you can equip the solar charger.
It’s not the best camera in the world, but if you have reasonable expectations for it, it’s very valuable.
