I bought this to find out just what exactly was going on in my garden during the night. The set up is very easy with a clear menu. Night time photos, as reported elsewhere, can suffer from burn out if the camera is set too close to the action, particularly if the infra red reflects off light coloured surfaces. The infra red LEDs can be seen in the dark, but only just. I don’t think there would be a risk of it being bright enough to give the cameras position away. The picture quality is fair considering that it is a fixed focus lens with a f3.1 aperture. Although it claims to take 12 Mp photos, these are interpolated so the 5MP photos are really no less informative. Also 12Mp images will take longer to process so if you want to take several photos in succession this may cause problems. Late afternoon and early morning photos, without the IR can be a bit on the dark side, but very simple digital processing will cure that. For some reason taking a series of three photos at one second intervals produces better exposures in the second and third images. Don’t know why.
I have yet to try using the strap, instead I have used a tripod, which is quite convenient. So far I have caught my cat(many times!), next doors two cats, someone else’s cats and two or three foxes in the back garden during the night. It’s like Paddington station out there after midnight!
Next stop the allotment. Definitely recommended, it’s not super photographic quality, but for the price it is a superb gadget and lets you see into another world. Very glad I bought it.

This an easy to use remote camera. Lightweight with a good battery life, provided you do not use its playback facility to review the pictures without plugging in to an external source. We have actually found it much simpler to view the card contents via the computer.
The instructions are clear and concise and the options for the various settings are comprehensive and certainly cover all our requirements for wildlife observation. Picture and video quality, both day and night, are good on the factory settings and we have not found the need to change them other than to increase the video recording length.
Very good value for money, we will probably be acquiring another one very shortly. Recommended.

Really great buy. Captured a Badger in my garden the very first time I used it. Very easy to set up. I bought the Integral USB SD Reader to go with it and found this was also a very good buy.
Martinez –
My main reason for buying this camera was the curiosity of what wildlife comes into my garden at night. The camera didn’t take long to arrive and once reading the booklet it was easy to set up, so no problems there. There is a small viewing screen on the camera where you can view the images and play back the video. The clarity of the images and video amazed me as I wasn’t really expecting much from night scenes.
There are so many different setting for the camera which I am yet to try out, like time lapse. So, at the moment I cannot comment of these settings.
The only problem I had with this product was a side clip connecting the camera to the battery box broke off. I emailed the company through Email. They responded to me within minutes and after an email conversation about what part was required a new part was sent out to me without any hassle. This is why I have given this product five stars, not only for the camera but also for the company which sold the camera to me. Customer care plays a big part in selling products.
I would recommend this camera to anyone who wishes to capture wildlife or to feed their curiosity of what happens in their garden at night.

I bought this as a gift for my husband, and he is really chuffed with it. He has caught impala white tailed mongoose, warthogs all at our little waterhole . I would definately recomend this camera.
Johnson –
Very pleased with this purchase. It was very easy to set up, the on board menu is very simple. Field tests in my rear garden have been surprising I had no idea the amount of movement through the garden of cats and other small mamals. Has even caught birds on the lawn. The real test will be in the wild.

easy to use and set up need some decent weather to really test it. will try over the weekend thats your lot

Excellent piece of kit, well built, very good results on photographs, have not tried the video side. Well worth the money

Bought this after doing a bit of online research as I wanted a wildlife camera for an upcoming trip to South Africa but also needed something waterproof that didnt need an external power supply or wifi.
Davis –
Fantastic camera, works brilliantly and no down points at all. Just a quick note, when you unpack it be sure to take the inner cardboard padding out as the strap and tv cable are in there. I didn’t find it at first and thought it was missing. Feeling dumb now lol.

I purchased this camera as a Christmas gift for my husband. He loves it. Firstly it arrived quickly and looks substantial in quality for the money , It was easy to set up and easy to attach to a tree outside with the straps provided. We often put leftovers outside after dinner and set it up where we generally leave these scraps. We have been delighted with the images of a very healthy fox having a midnight feast. I can’t comment on battery life or durability as it is still new but we am happy so far. This was purchased for a beginner and the images are good enough for us to see what is in the garden at night. Overall we are very pleased and would recommend.

I have not owned a trail camera before and given the low price, my expectations for the 5210A were not high.
The product arrived in good time and was securely shipped. Inside the package, the camera and ancillaries were packed into a small box. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the product. I half-expected a lightweight and cheap plastic camera and was wrong. The product is well made and although made of plastic it seems very robust. It is not suitable for immersion in water, but it has an IP54rating which means it is protected from dust and relatively high-pressure splashing.
The camera itself is solidly made and weighs about half a kilo when fitted with batteries. The windows for the lens, infra-red flash and PIR detectors are supplied covered with a protective plastic film that needs to be removed before use. The front of the case is made of green and brown camouflage-style plastic and the back and rear mounting frame are black. On the side of the camera there is a small set of metal and plastic clips that hold the components together securely and holes on each side of the case allow a tiny padlock to be fitted to lock the unit. The clips are probably the weakest link and care should be taken using them.
So generally speaking, this is a good one

The photos also showed the time stamp and temperature which is a nice touch. I used an old 2gb card and got over 300 images in a 10 hour period on a lower resolution with room to spare, so would be interesting to see what I get on 12mp resolution on my card.
Thompson –
It does exactly what it says on the box. I am very happy to watch lots of clips of wild animals. It is very good value for money.

Let me first start off with saying I don’t hunt, but I did want a camera to see what kind of wildlife was lurking around. I am so glad I did. It has been really fun to see different critters that obviously I knew were ‘out there’ , but not in your backyard!! Just the other day this camera caught a mama fox and her babies. I never would have known and the baby foxes were so adorable. The foxes were filmed around dusk so light was low outside, but the camera did a great job. The picture quality was crisp. I have a neighbor who has a huge hunting camera and I alway thought it looked a little ugly due to it very large size. This particular camera I chose for its small size and very natural colors. It is easy to use and the camera even has an optional place that you could lock it if you so desire. I feel like I don’t remember reading this before I bought it so I will mention it here, the cameras max capacity card it can hold is 32 GB. Which is plenty of storage for me, but worth mentioning. Currently I am using regular batteries, but I think since it takes 8 AA batteries, I will probably invest in some rechargeable ones (probably two sets to rotate). Overall, I am so happy I made this purchase and its been really fun seeing the variety of critters.

My family hunts and uses many cameras for hunting, but we decided to use this one close to the house. It has worked perfectly just to have some extra security and to see if anybody is trespassing to our barn. Compact and not noticeable, it is a good product for home security or for hunting.
scotty –
It is small and uses a regular sized sd card. Good day and night photos. Been testing it a few days with alkaline AA batteries and its still going strong. Interesting to see what shows up in the yard at night.
Pwdrrmk700 –
I just got this trail cam and I must say I’m very impressed. Captures great pictures and catches things I would of never suspected. Deer, raccoons, neighbors walking by. Etc. I would recommend buying this one it’s a great price and so far great pictures
Christian Gangstad –
It is easy to set up so I tested it overnight by cable tying it to a lamppost and found several photos of local cats, magpies and even a fox. It was a wet and foggy night but the camera was fine exposed to the elements and the unit inside the casing was completely dry.
Cheryl –
I set up cameras for fun over the last year in our yard to see what kind of animals pass through. I purchased this one to replace another that was buried in snow and started to letting water seep in the seal. I was surprised by a screen for viewing right at the camera with this particular model. My first! The feature was not in the product description. Well worth the price paid. Picture quality is great and the locks on the side make it easy to open and close when it’s freezing outside.

Good product works well

I had this thing out in MN Winter for 3 days ranging from 15° to -13° and it worked great. Even in the cold temps it’s sensors and video camera picked up such subtleties as the vapor from a dryer exhaust vent close by. I am very pleased with the device and couldn’t beat the price. I used it inside and out. Inside to confirm a few mice were abound and a few traps later they are no more. Outside wildlife easily captured as well. I don’t impress easily and I definitely am.
raymond douglas –
I found that this camera is lightweight (before you install the batteries) which is important to me as it doesnt weigh down luggage so I can buy the batteries on arrival in SA.
Louise Harvey –
This was my second purchase of the same camera and after I set it up, the red light would quit flashing but no photos of me walking in front of it. The customer service representative responded quickly to my issue and said I needed to turn it on and give it three minutes and then remember that if I had the photo intervals set at 30 seconds, it would only take a photo every 30 seconds. It worked! I use this camera to observe wildlife in my yard at night. It’s one of my favorite hobbies!
Jon1809 –
I bought this for a retiring co-worker. I’m not a hunter and don’t know a lot about this stuff but he is. He had said he wants to go hunting after retirement full time. I thought it would make a great going away present. Turn out, he really likes it. I think he already had a trail camera, but he said that this one is much nice than the one he has. He likes that it has a screen for viewing. the list price was a bit high, but got it when there was a coupon so price paid was competitive and fast shipping from the seller. SD card and batteries not included.
Elak Swindell –
Overall this seems, so far, to be excellent value for money. Test shots have been clear which I was not expecting.
The body is plastic, so might be animal fodder if I had Baboons in the garden, but I expect it will survive mere foxes and badgers, and seems to seal pretty well. For folks who had trouble getting it to go, you need to note that the ‘on/off’ switch is three positions (on-test-off) and that some setting interferes with one another in non-obvious ways (e.g., on-time record the sensor, and presumably, IR lamp array is off. Also, there is a settable ‘dead time’ after triggering, before it triggers again .. you have to read all the words and then interpolate some).
It is incredible what you can get for a reasonable price these days – last time I looked, camera traps were in the high three-figure pounds. Oh, and it came fast, as promised.
Pets –
I bought this originally to keep an eye on a colony of feral cats that had moved in under my front porch. I did end up finding several more cats than I expected, and the camera was great for capturing them only seconds after they entered the field of vision. (This was at ground level about four feet away from the camera) Night vision, in particular, was clear and very useful. I’ve since moved it to another area to use as a security camera as the cats have moved out for the season. It works a bit less reliably with a screen in front of it, so that effects it’s detection and clarity at night. It still functions well, though, when used with the normal field of vision and no screen in front of it. I’ve also had the same batteries in for almost a half a year now and it’s still going.

I got this camera for the hopeful capabilities of using it for paranormal investigations, as well as in my own early 1900s home that has its share activity (mostly residual). The image quality is very good, though a bit grainy. Not so much as to hurt the overall details. Menus are simple to work out and set. Audio is unfortunately monaural, so if you want stereo sound, you’ll have to convert it (as well as clean up noise, enhance volume/bass levels, etc.) I like the design of the unit, which is small at 5″ high x 3 1/2″ wide x 2 1/2″ deep. The one downside I didn’t like is that the camera needs eight AA batteries for power. That’s a LOT of juice. I don’t know how fast this thing eats through them, but I hope it’s slowly. It has caught some interesting spirited activity in my house (mainly interesting solitary orbs and EVPs) when left on during the night, but the motion sensitivity doesn’t seem to be enough to turn on when they appear, only as I pass through the area. It should have the option to power up when anything, even small illuminated orbs, are in the area. Nonetheless, it’s still an excellent night vision camera and well worth purchasing for hunting or paranormal situations.
P. M. Ruzicka –
I was looking for a night vision motion activated camera to see what is invading my garden. I haven’t used it for that purpose yet, but have tested it out with the feral cats that are visiting the house. Camera worked well and the pictures were good on the 5M pixel setting. I am happy with this purchase. Delivery was fast. Settings are pretty easy to deal with.
Ahmed –
I don’t hunt but we have deers and bunnies visiting our backyard and we wanted to be able to get some footage, kept looking for one that wasn’t over priced and I’m glad I found this one, so far it’s been working great and I like the quality of it and of the pictures too.. it’s great for security as wel
Domagoj Bekavac –
The cam has a strap and other useful attaches which we haven’t got around to exploring their uses as yet. All the extra features appear to be well built and ready for use right away.
Cherub –
I bought this camera and put it out on my 30 acres of land a week ago and i’m already capturing pictures of beautiful wild life. I can’t believe the good pictures this camera takes. Very easy to setup and install. I highly recommend this camera for whatever needs you may have. You will be very pleased with this camera . Great customer service and a great product
robert hart –
for the price paid the camera is excellent and I wish I would have bought them sooner.
can’t wait to watch the footage back the following day.
Sarah –
I received a new camera and the directions were clear, simple, and easy to follow. I put the 8 batteries in, my SD card, and nervously clicked on the ‘test’ button and it immediately turned on! I set up the camera, used the tree rope provided (and pictures above) to secure it and went on my way. Checked it two days later and never got anything great but I chalk it up to location as the camera itself took a few photos so I know the motion detection is working, and the images are clear and easy to review. I love the new camera, it’s honestly the best one I’ve used yet.
TARRELL PULLIAM –
Setup was very easy. Navigation of the menu was user friendly and so getting started took only a few minutes.
Serge Sang –
through the day I have them set up to capture the birds feeding and getting bathed in the cat water dish! yes the cat dish even though they have they own bird bath they some how prefer my cats which is so funny to watch….
Matthew Porcher –
The camera is really easy to use and set up although I haven’t used the stand that comes with it as I think the bendy camera tripod that I use on all three or my cameras give more flexibility when trying to get them in the correct position.
Melissa and Gary –
Bought this Hunting camera last week and love it!
To check if it worked well I put it outside my back garden and was able to capture a deer feeding late at night outside. Definitely wouldn’t have known it was there without this camera.
The picture quality is really good and the motion detection works really well when compared to other cameras I’ve owned in the past. Will likely buy another for my brother on our hunting trips.
daniel montet –
The quality of the shots are excellent – particularly the night shots. Seeing what happens in our garden overnight now really is an easy possibility thanks to this excellent quality trail cam.
NCGal –
So far so good! Easy set up and it actually is working good. I’m not tech savvy so this is a wonderful product to work with. Put on our back patio to keep eye on our back door and side of the house to door. The motion dector is sensitive and the snap shot pic. really good. It blends in well with the wood post I’ve strapped it to. I’m going to get an SD card this week. I have another brand camera indoors in several rooms and did not think I would be able to find an outdoor camera that would be as easy to set up and use. However, I’m proven wrong and glad I spend the $$$ to get this one. I highly recommend!
Jorge Cruz –
Good quality and amazing price! Bought it for surveillance of the house. Highly recommended! Perfect customer service to.
yacine –
I have a huge backyard in the country and this camera is so much fun showing me all the visitors. the first time i did not install in the best place but from now now I will see more from it. I will be using it for hunting. it has a great image quality with a wide view. the only thing i did not pay attention to was the batteries so it turned off because they were not fully charged .i would recommend using a 6V charged better which will keep it on the whole time. for the storage i used a 4G class 10 and it did the job well. if you are a hunter or just wanna know who visits you at night especial, this would be your best choice
GMB –
Purchased two of these camera’s. They are easy to use and navigate. The manual is straight forward and very helpful. The picture quality isnt the greatest out there, but for the price they are more than worth it. Perform better than some cameras I have owned that are double the price. Makes it hurt less if they get stolen while in the woods.
Ramon S –
I have had this camera for about one month. So far I have been very happy with it, yes the instructions lack guidance but it easy to figure out. Discovered a picture of a hummingbird on it, location in driveway allows for pictures of traffic coming and going. Overall this camera is very much worth the money and I’m planning on buying a second one.
Bob Stewart –
I have used this outdoors for the past 4 days since it arrived and have had excellent results, in the current SUB ZERO Michigan weather. The batteries even in the cold weather are still almost fully charged.
Easy set up for photos, videos and a mix of both. Even time lapse.
Adjustable photo quality, video length etc are all in the settings.
Make sure that you have a memory card on hand since you wont be able to use it without one. This is actually a good feature , otherwise you might try using it with no memory card inserted and be disappointed later when you go to review your shots and discover you didn’t put one in.
Already caught a fox on camera in my back yard!!
Chris –
We have property with currently no power and I wanted a discreet way to keep an eye on it. This camera takes 8 AA batteries and was a great solution for my needs since it did not require power or wifi or anything else. I love that it records to a memory card so that I can review it as I have time
The picture quality was very nice. I did the setup this weekend and used the screen to see what area of the property would be under observation. The image was bright, clear and handy since I could check it on the camera itself.
The included tree strap for install was a nice, no tools required option. Once our property is completed (development-wise) then I might look into using the other mount options.
Smith5 –
My husband and I bought this to give to our daughter for Christmas this year. She loves observing nature and wildlife and wanted to see what visits our yard at night (we live in the woods). We didn’t want to spend too much so we decided to buy this one as we have bought an action camera of the same brand before. My husband decided to test it out last night be for we wrap it. For the price we were both impressed with the picture and video quality both in the light and at night. We could see everything clearly. So far so good
Duane Furnish –
This is a great trail camera! I tested it in the back yard with the dogs, before putting it out at the farm for scouting the upcoming deer season. We had some heavy rain so I was able to confirm the camera is water-proof. Picture quality is very good at daytime and in the dark. It is very easy to navigate the menu to set capture frequency and time delay and switch between still photo and video modes. Overall, I think it is a great value for the price point. Highly recommend.
CaptDuke –
Great camera. I set it up in my back yard with default out of the box settings for a few weeks and it picked up all motion that I tested it with. Pictures and videos are clear day and night. For some reason some of the videos are a bit fuzzy. Settings are easy to navigate. Can’t wait to try this during this years season.
I’ll definitely pick up another one of these
J. Salyer –
The trail camera is offered at a reasonable price. Well packaged for shipment, clear directions for usage ~ step by step! Various options are offered for clarity, time & date stamp. A mounting strap and base are included for selective mounting. I was impressed with the night pictures and the day (color) snapshots are sharp & clear. Considering the price paid, this is a quality photographic instrument.
nitpicker –
Bought this because of the reviews an ounce them o be accurate. This was very easy to set up and get started collecting photos. I am using this for security to keep an eye on my property. The images are very clear in the daytime in full color. Night images are clear with the infrared images. This was very inexpensive and yet has all the features I need. I highly recommend it.
John –
I was looking for a replacement camera for watching the wildlife in my backyard and chose this one because of the positive reviews and the price. It’s very easy to set up and the. photos and video are high quality. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a quality game camera without breaking the bank.
DSB –
I bought 2 of these, one for me and one for my husband. I love this camera. It’s really easy to set up and use. My husband recommended this to me, he uses his for trail cams. I use mine for watching birds and squirrels in my bird sanctuary in my backyard. I do 30 second videos, most I delete, but I do get some funny enjoyable ones.
My husband is getting ready for hunting season, and he has quite a few of these cameras, so I added one more to his collection, since someone stole one of his last year.
Mrs. Ryan Hall –
I ordered 2 of them for around the house/home security, I am amazed at how good they work and the quality of the video and photos, very easy to set up.
Jon Egger –
I already have the 20 and 30 MP cameras, so I figured that I’d try this one too. These cameras are great so far. Only issues are that people can steal your card because it doesn’t lock. Mounting options are great, and picture quality is great too! This would be great for public land hunts, but just be wary of your card possibly disappearing.
Update! This camera is amazing. It has great pictures that actually seem to focus on the animals. I’m still having slight issues with it being overly sensitive, but it has been great!
Michael Sanders –
I’ve bought a different camera from this company before, and once again they did not disappoint… I’ve owned cameras that were twice as expensive and didn’t have the features, the picture quality, or longevity that this company’s cameras have. They truly last the test of time and are actually waterproof.. a statement that I’ve been disappointed about from other cameras. I love how they put a curved bracket on the back of this one.. such a simple idea that ALL cameras should come with it. Makes mounting on a tree way easier.. as always, this camera is extremely user friendly and you can figure it out after about 10 seconds of playing with it.. very pleased.
sherri –
This is my hubby’s second apeman camera, and they are great little trail cams. He gets good quality pictures, and the cameras hold up well to our Louisiana weather. He has not had any issues with them, and requested another one for Christmas. We’ve had many many trail cams, we’ve had high-dollar cams that just didn’t hold up as well as these.
Josh Meert –
I hunt public land so I cannot afford to spend hundreds of dollars on cameras that have the risk of getting stolen or vandalized. I bought the 20MP camera earlier this year and I couldn’t be happier with the quality. Great video and night quality! This camera does not fall short of my expectations. I typically only set my camera to 16MP pictures to save memory space, so this camera is perfect. And at the price point, you can’t go wrong!
One nice feature of this camera is the curved backplate that contours a tree to help you get a better hold on the tree.
It also has the batteries housed inside the camera instead of out of the bottom. Great overall camera with great quality and a low price. Would recommend to anyone.
William C. Schulze –
I have used many trail cameras and for the money this is one of the best I have come across, it is very easy to set up with the instruction manuals or with YouTube reviews available. The ability to have it run with either four or eight AA batteries is a superior addition to this model which saves on batteries when selecting new locations, you can only put in four and if you return to dead batteries due to camera capturing wind blowing something, you can adjust and only lost four batteries. The image quality is superior both in photo mode and video during day and night so you can feel confident you will be able to capture wild game or security of your property. This is a must have for anyone looking for a quality camera.
Barbara Boyce –
I was pleasantly surprised how clear the pictures are. It is easy to use. I am not a tech person, but the instructions were clear to follow. It is perfect for my needs. I would recommend this camera to anyone who wants to record movement of anything when you can’t be around. The night pictures are great.
Gray Matter –
I have had a problem with people driving off my driveway and damaging my lawn. I got some results with a security camera on the house but I needed another angle. This trail cam is doing a great job of recording the coming and goings at the house and capturing the low angle of the lawn. The pictures are great during the day and provide enough detail at night. The setup of the camera was very easy, I didn’t even need the directions to do it. The form factor is great for mounting on a tree.

Used to see what was digging a hole underneath the shed. Easy to set up and view photos. Night vision and motion capture with both video with sound and photo was great. Easy to use SD card storage and can easily transfer to computer. Sturdy mounting bracket included works good. Takes 8 AA batteries, but can use anywhere. DC port available if you want. It was a groundhog.

I loved my first apeman I purchased a second one. I know i will be getting a third soon. What i like about this cam is its easy to setup. It also has a passcode you can setup so if someone does steal it, it won’t be of any use to them. Even got bear slobber on this new one and it still took great pix.

The product arrived as described. The mounting plate for the camera is useful for areas where it does not need to be moved around. The strap that came with the camera works well on a 12” tree (with extra strap left over).
Setup was simple. Extra items needed 1x32GB SD card and 8 AA batteries.
Video and pictures are very clear in both daylight and from nighttime.
I would highly recommend this product for both the quality of the product AND the price.

I needed a motion activated camera so I could see what kind of animals were living under my deck. This camera was easy to set up and easy to use. And the results were great I discovered that I have raccoons and a skunk coming and going under my deck. I using the video feature and was able to easily adjust the setting for length of video, resolution, and length of time before next recording starts. I have used 3 nights in a row so far.
